hey guy's, let me explain what happened:

today i was driving back from work thru my town. i visited a friend off mine to show the sound off the magnaflows i put under the day before. while i was revving the engine, i had a pretty loud backfire.
1 minute later i decided to drive back to my home wich was 1/2 mile down the street.
after idling trough an intersection, i accelerated with 40% throttle. while i did this, i saw a huge amount off smoke in my rearview mirror, i thought my car was on fire so i drove quickly towards home and shut off the engine as fast as i could, by that time i couldnt even see where i was going since the whole street was filled with a dense smoke coming from my car.
i waited 30 minutes and fired her up again. the thick smoke was gone but it still had a bleu smoke coming out off the tailpipes. after 5 minutes idling, i thought that problem had dissapeared and drove a little, but when i accelerated it had the huge amount off smoke again!

the thick smoke does not stop until i idle it for 4 minutes and starts when i accelarate and not while revving on the spot.

i think it must be something like a broken piston ring but when i looked at somne youtube videos about that it didnt look like it at all! and it also does not look like a failing valve seal since the smoke im getting is a lot worse that i saw on YT.

i hope you guys know what i am trying to explain, otherwise i have to film it and piss off my neighbours again with all that smoke.

please, has anyone experienced the same thing and knows what to do?

thanks

Check the vacuum modulator on the transmission.
There is a steel tube and hose that goes from transmission to intake manifold behind carb.
pull the hose off there and see if there transmission fluid in it.
Happened to my malibu. It sucks up the transmission fluid into your intake on high vacuum situations.

If its not the modulator, the rings could be worn. To test this, you can hold the acceleator down for about 10 seconds at around 1500-2000 rpm, then let off the gas & watch the tailpipe. Your float on your carb could even be stuck tho, might explain the backfiring. (Smoke would be black & the car likely wouldnt be running too well) Take out the dipstick & see of it smells like gas. If thats not the case & you're on a budget like I generally am, I've used some risonline piston ring sealer & one grade thicker oil on some old trucks I've had in the past & it actually really cut down the ugly smoke cloud. New mufflers can even put off a lil smoke until all the oils, etc are burned off. Just some ideas to maybe put you in the right direction.

it's a white/grey smoke. the vacuum modulator story is something i thought too. i looked into the intake manifold today and i saw an oil film on the walls and the vacuum hoses where wet. not sur if its ATF or just oil. could it be the backfire blew out my intake gasket?

what carburetor are you running and was the backfire through the exhaust or carburetor?

it was in the intake manifold/carb, what kind of carb i run is irrelevant because i run on lpg. and lpg is prone to backfires with the lean setup i run.
