#$&@#$% That sucks. I have cameras/DVR set up at the house and while they aren't the greatest they're visible and are probably more deterrent than anything.

We got one of these for my kid's house (the pan/zoom one, inside). Definitely worth the $$. You can get outdoor housings for them but they're only 5V USB powered and you still have to run that wire somehow, and make sure they get wifi. IIRC you can set it up to notify you and it has 2-way audio....

We got her a "ring" doorbell/security system but that was much more $$ (for better service.) It's nice to get a "ding" and be able to see and talk to whoever is in front of the camera though.

sh*t just set up a dummy camera with fake IR lights and that'd probably be enough. F@$%ing Oklahoma.
It's not just Oklahoma. I've had S#%$birds try to steal the wheels off my truck twice, in my driveway, on camera, while I slumbered. I have two sets of locks on which eclipses their desired effort level. Little bast#@$% still stole my center caps the first time.

So with a away to ID a possible thief or a lead to him can't be used to go after that person?!?! Hell I have been pulled over in the '90's cause the Monte matched the type of car some Pittsburgh gang bangers used. See if your insurance can put some leverage on it.

Sorry to hear. Someone who knows you have g-body parts possibly but they would of taken way more if they were targeting that. Probably tweakers, any meth heads you know nearby? Probably someone really local and comfortable walking back there.

Also surprised that SS is still there, I remember asking about some parts off of it and you said someone bought it whole.

No way of proving the owner of the vehicle is the person that committed the crime.

If you called the Police while it was happening and they spot the vehicle within a "reasonable" amount of time.

Stop the vehicle and find parts inside that's a different story.

Alway's remember the laws where put in place to protect the innocent.

That being said, We the People unfortunately have people that take advantage of the system on both sides of the law.

In the good old days they would have gone after the owner of the vehicle anyway. If it wasn’t him and he thought he was going to get locked up for it, he would be giving up the real theif in a hurry. But nowadays they can’t be bothered with “minor crimes”. Our courts and police want to concentrate on major crimes due to lack of space in jails and prisons. This philosophy is clearly not working. We have so many bad criminals that do go to prison because nothing was done about their behavior when they were doing their “minor crimes”.

Damn, I read this and it pissed me off 100%. My suggestion is that you need a security system with night vision and if you cannot make that happen at the moment, get yourself at minimum a bad *ss dog, motion detector lights and be on the lookout because they will eventually come back.
I live in a very no crime area but I still have two dogs that bark when they hear anything drive or walk by, motion detector lights, a night vision security system and something purchased legally called "Remington 870". It is readily available just in the event of an Emergency. While I don't want to use it on anyone, I certainly will to defend my family and what I work hard for everyday!........

Surprise AZ.
I put up three Blink Cameras from Amazon around our place. They are $99 apiece and are motion activated. They send video to my phone when triggered . We have a bunch of kids going around in groups in a mini van at 3-4 in the morning checking for unlocked cars to steal stuff from. Plus have the Rottys I can turn loose.
