getting under the car the best I could the pan looked like that of a th350, but I understand it could be a 200R/th350/700r.

the car is 100% stock so what ever she came with from the factory is still in there. whats everyones thoughts of what it likely is :?:

The 700-R4 never came in a G-body.
The 200-4R wasn't available until '83.

You have either a THM-200 (metric), a TH-350, or the TH-250.

The metric 200 is easy to identify by the big "METRIC" right on the pan.

The TH-250 and TH-350 are almost identical with the exception of the external band adjuster on the passenger side of the trans.

Wow that was quick, thanks for the info :!: impossible to get under it right now to see if it has that "other nipple" or not.

I was sure a 700r was an option. probably be what id be looking to replace it with..... ive gone down the route of a high stall and high rear gear just screaming a 3 spd trans

The 2004r was the only factory overdrive in the g body. The 700r4 was in the f bodies and some trucks depending the years.
