Today im going to spend the day buffing the paint back to life, and wire up the electric cutouts. Any thoughts on cowl hoods..... Not if they work..... I'm looking for how tall can the cowl be before it's a pain to see out of. I'm thinking a 4" love to here yalls thoughts

Welcome, nice car.
IMO cowl hoods are SO OVERDONE they've become boring. Come up with something different, more exciting. I made my hood into an ALL STEEL Stinger hood, like a 67 Corvette big block hood.
