First year for 200R4 in a G body?

Help needed in finding out what trans is in the elke. Its a 1987 305 and on the shift pattern it reads PNR Overdrive D21 what trans could this be. Asking for a friend.
If that's the shift pattern, it's definitely an OD transmission.

Look underneath. If the pan seems elongated and more pointed toward the back...

...it's a 200-4R (MW9). If more squarish, it's a 700-R4.

Factory would be a 2004R. I have never seen a 700R4 Factory in one. As said it could jave anything swapped in. A TH350 bolts in place and is quite often swapped in place if failure occurs, due to cheapness and availability.

I text him the pictures. He will now be able to tell what trans is in his elke. He is 18 and a lot to learn. He is going to teck school for big truck mech.
