well after getting some slicks i finally got a chance to run my car with the 502 in it. best run of the day was 12.39 at 112. i was having some issues hooking up off the line but i think a few more times out will drop that down to a 12.1-12.2 this was also with full interior and everything so some weight reduction is next for me.
Very cool. My get acqainted trip to the strip with the 509 was with drag radials full weight / exhaust etc and went 109.6. With me full size spare fuel as I drive it she weighed 3840. Do you have stock, SS, or aftermarket springs? The regular Cutlass springs are too soft, the 442/SS are much better but the Moog 5662s are the sh*t for a good handling good rideing street car. I used a lighter stiffer 36mm hollow sway bar from an early mid 90s Ws6 suspensioned TA or equivalent Camaro. It helps cornering ability a lot especially with a 15x7 & a 235/60 tire. Its a direct bolt in and I bought it from GM for a lot less than the pretty aftermarket bars. Naturally if you are just building a drag car you might not use one at all.
im not sure what springs it has. they look stock and im pretty sure i have an ss. the front is definitely from an ss but someone could have just put that on there. im building the car for just the dragstrip so im getting drag springs and shocks this winter. what trans and rear-end are you running
Per the signature line I have a 200-4R and an 8.5. Mine is built as a mild street car and runs well on 89 octane. I was surprised when I got 17mpg on an out of state trip where we traveled at 70 to 75mph. With timeing & carb dialed in and the ideal gearing I think she could go 115.

Nice ride man! Sounds great looks great! You should easily get in the 11's with some suspension tuning and weight savings on the car.Keep up the good work.
