Thanks for sharing. Pioneer is a known good brand. Generally, if it's for sale on RockAuto.com, it will be a quality product. That said, there are different levels of product. RA seems to bin them as daily driver and performance, etc.

**edit**

Well, now. No joy found on RA.com. Searched under Regal and Monte Carlo, 1986-1988 and found only Sonnax bits to adapt to carbs. So I must withdraw this advice. Still searching.

Hope this is not part of the OP's original complaint: https://www.monstertransmission.com/200-4R-Adjustable-Throttle-Valve-TV-Detent-Cable_p_4908.html

Makes me worry when I get my 200-4R up and running again. I don't necessarily endorse Monster, but I'll take facts were I find them.

Thats exactly the cable im talking about🙄 I contacted the manufacturer for further informations. I installed the cable with trans pan off to be sure the throttle valve plunger is all the way in at WOT. It‘s pretty hard to get parts here in europe and import/fee/taxes are pain staking. I just get what i can🤷🏻‍♂️ It‘s an early 79 TH200 (no C or R4) with the old long slotted „kick down“ style cable. And there are many versions of them in lenght and end pieces. Its a long story...so i hoped to end the struggle with a universal cable, but it seems it gets even worse...

I‘ll report when i hit the road with it and hopefully get back on own wheels😄

I`m back! Shift points are fine and nothing at the Cable adjustment moved or went out of whack. 1-2 shift @ ~20mph and 2-3 shift @ ~35mph...think everything is fine. The manufacturer replies quick to my mail and says that they have very few complaints about it. I expected nothing different:unsure:

I changed the attachment on the carb from "long slot, Kickdown-style" to the teardrop version like the 700R4...hope to get more proper line pressure. Why it was changed in 80/81? Likely the long slot cable is crap?

So i can`t say anything badabout this cable so far, but i`ll get a ATP/Pioneer IF there is one at RA or so...

Thank you all for your input(y)

I bought some medication called Fitzall that I found online, I peeled off the label and the original label has Snakeoil printed on it...it didn't work...
