I tried from what I can see it's pretty clean. I'm wondering if it had some oil deep inside that may just have become gummed up. Not really sure what to try to clean it with if that's the case.Try to carefully blowing the dust out of the clock's contacts. Non-quartz clocks usually stop from being dirty. But still check for any signs of burns to ensure there were no shorts in it's past.
