Flex fans are junk, use a stock clutch fan or go electric.

X2. Anytime I see a flex fan on a car, I think a little less of the owners knowledge. In reality, flex fans just make a lot of noise and use extra horses. timo22

Clutch fan and a good shroud will do good.

Despite what you guys say about flex fans, I've used one for many years before going back to a clutch fan.
I've used a 7-blade stainless Hayden 18.5" . It was noisy as hell, like most flex fans are, but it kept my engine running at a good temp with no issues. I'm sure they are horsepower robbers as well.

I also have an F-body LS1 dual fan setup which is what I was going to use. It's sitting on the shelf as a backup.

In the Engine Masters test I think the clutch fan would rob even more power since I don't think it would be fully engaged with a radiator that doesn't have hot coolant in it.
