I got the same problem as some of you. Looking for a Stronger rear end to replace the 7.5 Stock . Been hearing ALOT about the 8.5,at the local track. Ive also been told I got too much HP for them,,I need to go with the 9".Read the forum "Junkyard 9" ,still not sure 59" form flange to flange. What would that be from drum to drum? If I"m going to go scout the boneyards most of these cars wont be tore down to the flanges.Easier to measure drum to drum.And yes ,When ya get it,Can you post pics? Thanks for the inspiration

Idk how much power your car is making but i personlly went 11.6's for 5 plus yrs until the posi started to fail. I onow guys going low 10's on upgradd posi and axles. Dont know your goal but dont count the 8.5 out.

Is thats RWHP or Flywheel hp. Either way I think your fine with a 8.5 my buddies car dynoed 563 rwhp and he i running a 8.5
