So I recently picked up a ford nine inch out of a Monte Carlo to put into my el Camino before purchasing I asked if it came with the drive shaft and the guy said it did well when I got there he said he didn’t have the drive shaft but I bought it anyways after a 4 hour drive I wasn’t going home empty handed and I’m not upset over it I only paid 470 for the whole Kit and caboodle and it has disc break conversion, ladder bars, a set of cregars and tires, and a locker in it and it’s all set up to toss in a gbody other then the drive shaft was wondering if anyone knows if there’s somewhere that sells a drive shaft that can be tossed right in or what kind of fabrication will be needed to make a driveshaft

if it has a 1330 or 1330s yoke on it, it will bolt right in the way it is

First you have to set up the chassis to work with the ladder bar set up and then I would measure and get a new driveshaft made. IMO

Not sure about a pre maid one , but i have had them made a few times . I usually get a drive shaft thats close then have it cut down and balanced . I found its best to bolt rear end in car first then measure , some places say end of joint to end of joint, some like center to center. Make sure that when shaft is pushed in transmission all the way that there is at least 1'' of space between rear joint and rear end yoke ! That is [ minimum ] distance needed for suspension travel.

Well at least it looks like the factory rear coil springs will line up.

Thanks for the help guys, I’ll have to look into what I’ll have to do to make this work some more I figured the ladder bars and pan hard bar may become a pain in the *ss but when I get around to putting it in I’ll make a new thread I knew I would have to weld a bracket to the chassis for the pan hard bar but I thought the ladder bars would bolt into where lower control arms mounted didn’t know what I was getting into with the ladder bar set up but it’ll be a learning experience worst case Ontario I’ll try to get the original 10 bolt control arm mounts on it or something

You have no mounting points for the control arms as this rear came from a leaf spring car or they where removed.

I would save yourself a lot of headache and time and pick up the correct housing and axles.

You already got the pumpkin and brakes for an OK price being it has a locker in it

IS this a drag car you are building????
