Would like to tap into the knowledge of the community and see if a 1979 regal frame would work for my 87 cutlass project. It’s local to me and in good shape. I believe besides the cross member and horn extension it would be ok but I don’t have enough knowledge about it. Thanks

All the same and interchangeable I believe.

Here's a cut & past from a closed thread. I dug into what parts book info I was able to track down & cross with my Chevy books a few years back.

This is what I found usimg my Chevy parts books.
Monte Carlo frame p/n: '78 470211, '79 14017671 (must use engine mount 14005699 on '78 models) (used on '78-'81 Buick 09, 69, 87), '80-'81 14013462 (superseded '78 & '79 p/n's) (used on '81 Regal), '82-'88 14103516 (use on '83 Olds W40 Hurst/Olds, '78-87 Pontiac except 35.)
Malibu (19, 27, 69) p/n: '78 461808, '79 14005602 (same note as Monte Carlo), '80 14017667 (must use '80 front park brake cable on earlier models, superseded '79 p/n) (Used on Buick 09, 69, 87), '81 14032514 (superseded '78-'80 p/n's.)
Note body codes:
2 door body: 27, 37, 47, 87
4 door body: 09, 19, 69
station wagon: 35
Looks like the Monte frame would be the one to work on a LeMans. Keep in mind that this is incomplete as I have not cross checked all GM catalogs for our cars.

After a some crossing searching, p/n 14013466 list as the frame for all Cutlass models (09, 47, 69, 87) except wagons for '78-'81. This is also the p/n for '80 Regal (47). Now '78-'79 Regal used p/n 14017672. Then with the '82-'88 Cutlass list p/n 14085306 for '82-'87 with MV9 (3 speed auto), p/n 14103516 for '83 W30 & '84-'88 with MW9 (4 speed auto) just as posted by ELCAM.

Just to add from the Buick p/n's beside the two I've listed above:
14013461-'78-'80 87, '78-'79 09, '80-'81 69
14017667-'79 09, 87 (from a May '81 dated catalog, possible alternate p/n, also list 69 but this body style wasn't used until '80 & used to the end of 4 door production)
14013462-'81 47
14032515-'82 47, 69
I could only find info for '78-'82 for Buick frames.

Thanks guys for the replies. The guy sold it already. I’m going to take my 87 down to the grams and I have the rear replacement rails but don’t yet know the rest of the condition. I was thinking if there was a good frame already I could start preparing it, boxing the frame and doing the suspension etc… but then again I go back to using the money for a different frame to buy a new welder and equipment to do it myself and have more tools. I guess I’ll have to just get to work on the tear down and find out where I stand.
