Other than trying to lift the body what are you guys doing to replace the line in the rear? I appear to have a small leak somewhere back there as it leaves spot on the floor right by where the line comes over the rear and comes into the frame by the rear lower control arm front mount. Right now I’m thinking remove the rubber hose and run a steel braided line over the rear into the frame channel to replace the leaking section.

When I changed out all my fuel lines I realized they put the body on after the lines were run. What I did was to run new line as far back as I could. Then I made another short section that snuck around the spring perch not quite in the same place. Then I connected them by double flaring the lines and using the correct type unions. You "could" use plumbing compression fittings since there is no pressure in the lines but I am real anal about fuel and brakes.

Have you got under the car to see where it is coming from?

There are some rubber lines up there.

Maybe but I doubt it because this would be an easy fix

But maybe the rubber line is cracked/worn out and running down the line and dripping.

The line up high by the rubber line appeared dry. It looks wet after the steel tube comes down from above the spring seat. So I would think it’s before the rubber line. Closer to the front control arm mount.

I'll assume you're going to drop the tank- check for rust under the foam line separator on top of the tank. Mine was full of pin holes.
Short of pulling the body, anything else will work. I don't think I could get that clip off when I ran my AN lines, and I was just trashing all the steel. That dang clip and a short section are "abandoned in place" as we call it at work.

That short section you speak of is actually still in place in my 70 SS that I just got. Somebody replaced the line with an aluminum 1/2" line and couldn't get that part out. So I was thinking that may be the fix. Since I have a 12" rubber hose connecting the tank line to the body line anyway from the factory, take that off, cut the line down in the "C" channel of the frame rail where its exposed, and fish a new hose up over the perch and connect to the tank tube. And then worry about it in 10 years when the ethanol gas eats the rubber hose out.

Thanks for the offer. I will let you know, I THINK I have some at home to get me by. I thought I had some left over from the fuel line I made for my old 70 Nova. Its always great to have someone be so willing to help out. Thanks again for the radiator shroud.
