i have an 84 cutlass what side is the pressure side i hooked up the fuel line from the driver side and im not gett any fuel pressure did i hook up the wrong side? what do i have to do to get fuel to my carb im using a machanical fuel pump. and i cut back the line on the passenger side bc i was told that was the return line. what did yous guys do?

DUDE TH PAS SIDE IS THE WRONG ONE ITS THE ONE ON THE DRIVER SIDE TAKE THE FUEL CAP OFF THEN TRY IT AND ON THE FUEL PUMP DID YOU HOOK UP THE RIGHT SIDE

There should be two lines on the car. the smallest line is the vapor line to charcoal canister, the larger line is the feed. My feed on my 84 cutlass w/ 231 v6 was on pass side, vent on driver. When I installed 350 sbc I bought a 3/8 feed line from Inline Tube. Should have no problem if you used the larger line to your fuel pump. I hate to ask but is the fuel pump pushrod in place?

Actually there could be three lines. The two on the passenger side would be the feed and return and the one on the drivers side is the vapor line.

Shouldn't be hard to know which is which though when hooking them up to the pump. The feed line is larger than the return and they are on the passenger side of the car assuming your original engine was a 307.

I tried both sides driver and passenger and still not getting pressure and i looked at my tank and theres a ground line and a red line coming off of it

this could be why your not getting any pressure..if want to to check to see if the pump working take a gas can and drop the intake hose in it

what i did (not sure if i am going to have to change this set up because it creates pressure in the tank) is i used the vent line as my return line for my fuel. i would actually like some imput from anybody that knows if this is crazy or it would be fine but i do have min ehooked up likethat right now and runs fine. (not sure if the mpg is any good)

I figured it out and got it running my fuel pump was bad even tho it was brand new thanks for the help guys

that sucks when you can't depend on new parts....you never figure that something new would be an issue and you end up chasing down everything else looking for the problem, good that you found it tho
