Does anyone know if any company makes a reproduction gauge cluster housing. The one from my Monte SS is in very rough shape.

I thought some years back (20+) I saw repop gauge housings on the market but like lots of G parts they came & gone as fast as they showed up. At this point a good used one maybe the way to go. One thing to keep in mind is there is a slight change in '86 due to the change in the bezel & headlight switch bracket which removed the left & right side screw anchor clip mount points.

I am planning on either using a Dakota Digital gauge set or the classic instruments one.

Shoot, if you're going to cut it up, you could use the warning light style,. Much easier to come by and I actually tossed a couple out because nobody wants them. I have been unimpressed with the interior repro parts for our cars

What do you mean the warning light style? My gauge box is in bad shape which is why I want to replace it

Where the MCSS came wirh round speedo, tach, and 4 small gauges, the 82+ Malibus, El Caminos and base Montes came with a similar pod that only had speedo, optional c;lock, and the small fuel gauge, with the other 3 small "gauges" being warning lamps.

The bucket is the same shape, and uses the same bezel, but will not accept the OE gauge package as it does not thave the correct holes for the retaining clips for the gauge contacts. I actually resorted to sectioning a non-gauge pod with the center section of a very damaged gauge pod since the non-gauge pods are virtually worthless on the parts market
