I'm looking to replace some of my broken gauge needles I seen on here they can be replaced with tooth picks. My question is how do the old ones get taken off and the new ones attached?

The needle pulls of from a stem. A painted toothpick can work. And it should be able to be glued on to what's left of the old one without pulling it.

About a year ago I pulled the speedometer to lube the speedo cable. Pressed on the back of the speedo the wrong way causing the needle to rotate backwards and break on the stop. Looked everywhere for flat toothpicks and could not find them. Got a bag of wooden craft stencils from walmart and cut one down to the shape of the original needle. Then mixed up a combination of white, orange, red, and caucasian flesh colored acrylic craft paint until I got a color match to the original needle that I was happy with. Pulled the old one which broke the rest of needle, then glued on my wooden one. I'm satisfied with the result, although speedo now runs a little low from not getting the needle back on the stem in just the right spot.
