Thanks, I have been more of a reader than a writer!


I am using the stock fan shroud, but I cut part of it away to fit the cold air intake. And just have the electric fan attached to the rad. I can take another pic of that if you want, just let me know.


Where are you from?
You will need a Map sensor as well. And knock sensors are not used at all.
if you use the msd 60143 or 6014 you dont need a map sensor as its built in

I have an 80 elco and I want to LS swap in I have the engine it is. Lm7 5.3 I am just looking for the cheapest way to rebuild it

Don't touch it. If it runs and hits on all 8 then don't mess with it. If it needs to be bored, then get another. They are too cheap and available to spend a pile of money on one. I understand wanting to rebuild it, but it's just not needed. It is worth checking the valve seal and valve stem protrusion.

What are your goals and budget?

Im swapping my 85 cutlass Supreme brougham. going with 5.3 4l60e. Will need to change the original shifter to work with the 60E? its my first swap go easy please lol

If you’re 85 cutlass came with the 200-4R four-speed transmission then no, you do not need a new shifter. Any GM four-speed shifter will work.
