Just curious to know if anyone here has compared the Gbodyparts weatherstripping to the other 3 weatherstripping manufacturers (Steele which is really Metro Molded Parts. Soffseal, & Fairchild). I only ask because the Gbodyparts site has some verbiage on one of their T-Top seal part numbers (#G00-AWS-S10-TTSK ) that makes a person wonder what makes theirs different or better. Per their website verbiage on the part number I listed:

"GM discontinued the main factory T Top weather stripping several years ago for the Gbody. We now buy from a source that actually was a GM supplier. After much research and trial fitting of other seals, this is still our best source. As of this date we have sold over 500 sets and we have had no problems......Later we will be laying out comparisons between these seals, GM and others on the market."

I am in the market to buy a full set of door, roof rail, and t-top seals, and if Gbodyparts claim that theirs are the best available, I'd like to hear input on them from people that have purchased and used them.
Thanks in advance!

I bolded parts to zero in on...

GM supplier statement. GM supplier of WHAT? They could have made rubber bumpers for the doors or hood for all we know, if that's even factual. Usually, if they made the T-top seals, you would be far better off saying "they were a top teir supplier of T-top seals to GM's original production" or something to that effect. Regardless, that statement really doesn't mean much beneath the crust.

The amount of sets sold...really? 500? I could see 100 or so, but how many really were sold? And none with any problems? These better be some good seals. You would think that 500 sales that someone here would have bought some.

I'd rather see some comparisons from buyers of the product, not snake oil salesman pitches.

It's Gbodyparts.com. With that, I know from personal experience, any issues on an order you have would have some sort of unprovable and improbable excuse for why the order wasn't correct/late/fill in the blank for your issue. Most of the stuff Gbodyparts gets you can get through Mike's Montes. At least he'll make it right fast if something goes wrong.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for GOOD repro parts. Stuff that fits, feels, and more importantly, looks like the original stuff, but most of the time, it's a bunch of hot air hype. I was really looking forward to those Hurst Lightning Rods, but alas...
