Who has shed weight from their car? Curious as to how much can be lost without going tube chassis.

Lets see some numbers!
My car is not a race car so weight loss was not my ultimate goal but I did reduce weight with the parts below. I’ve also added weight with things like a power seat track on the passenger side, frame reinforcement, 4L80 and suspension parts. If memory serves me, my car weighs around 3700 pounds with me in it.

Aluminum bumper reinforcements front and back
Aluminum hood
Aluminum drums ( before the rear disk install)
Aluminum bumper mounts
LS3 aluminum block (likely 100 pounds lighter than the Olds motor with cast-iron heads)

My Monte is a pig at an even 4,000 lbs and that's before I get in, it has a roll bar and has power everything including both seats and power sunroof, that is why I need a 565 BBC on nitrous just to get it moving.

Keep in mind that the stock steel bumper mounts are designed to telescope in while the solid aluminum mounts don't, which makes them a poor choice for street driven cars.

I don't have much weight reduction in my Regal. A plastic side tank radiator, mini starter, aluminum rims, and deleted carpeting and underpadding. Remember Newton's second law, acceleration = force ÷ mass.
