We got a wire rope that my brother in law has around it but it did come down before noon. The rope did keep it from the garage, it fell into the driveway brushing against the house with no visible damage. Blocking the steps to the back porch & basement door. I'm glad the in laws came ove to help. Put a claim in with the home owners to help with clean up. Going to have to call the tree guys to regardless if the claim is given a yes or no. Post some pics & off to start some access clean up.
Omgosh, i'm glad you and your family and property are all ok!! that's some scary crap right there!!

Yeah the ground is just so saturated from all the rain it's just soft mud. The wind was absolutely insane last night, I don't ever remember wind quite that bad. I'm just hoping the power will be on when I get home from work. Where did you live in the North Side?
I spent most of my time living around Perrysville & Marshal Aves (grandparents had a house on Mayfield Ave), some time by that building at Wilson Ave & W. Burgess St, the before moving to Armstrong Co. I was just below Perry H.S.

I had a huge Maple behind me that had split and grown into 4 seperate trunks and they all grew taller than the houses. I always worried about when it would start to break stuff. But during Sandy I actually saw the top of the tree touching the ground as it was whipping back and forth. Then last year some big branches snapped off and landed on another neighbor's garage. That is when the owner decided to get it taken out and it cost him $10,000.00 over 2 days. It was that big. Now there is nothing big near my house to worry about and I can sleep easy.

Small world haha, I lived right at the top of Brighton Road off of Cambronne St. My parents built a house and moved us out to Ross right around the time I started grade school.

From a born and raised Pennsylvanian praise the Lord no one was hurt.............I lived in south central PA and I finally had
enough of PA weather. So last week I am in Payson Arizona and it dumps 30 inches of snow here. I can run, I just didn't hide well enough.
Keep the faith ...........(y)

Back when I was growing up Brighton Heights was the stepping stone to Ross then to McCandles/Wexford. I went so middle & high school with alot of people from that area.
I did get a quote on getting the tree cut up & hauled away, $400. The deductable is $500 so I guess I'll be just keeping the claim open to make sure there wasn't any hidden damages. The tree guy is loving the weather only cause of the trees that came down.

In New Mexico, all the firewood is pine or cedar. What you people call firewood, in New Mexico is called F-U-R-N-I-T-U-R-E.
