The GM Propulsion Plant (formerly called Powertrain) that I work at has an annual car show for GM powered vehicles. This is the 20th year for the show. We usually get around 400+ vehicles at the show. This year there is also an open house in the plant. The car show is in a grassy treed park like area in front of the plant. The plant is near Niagara Falls on the Canadian side.
We build Gen V V8, truck, Camaro, Cadillac, and Corvette engines. The plant builds HFV6s including the twin turbo ones. They also build FWD 6 speed automatic transmissions.
My 78 Malibu is half way through a Gen II 350 LT1 four speed swap, so it won't make it. I'll either have my '56 Ford Victoria (currently 400sbc/700r4) or 62 Pontiac (350 LT1/4L60E) there.

Would you be kind enough to post some pics of the event. That would be awesome.
I wouldn't mind seeing your '56 Ford and '62 Pontiac.

I think there are some pictures of last years event on the show site, but I will take some this year for sure and post them.
The last couple of years I had a display about the provincial tail pipe regulations and what it takes to stay legal on engine swaps (IMO). A couple of friends got taken off the road and paid fines on their early eighties Chevy pickup trucks for missing emission control devices.
I took this picture in my yard yesterday. I could write up some details in the Non-G Forum topics. I bought the two fords when I was at school in the '60's. My '78 Malibu LT1 swap is in my shop and progress is bogged down while I try to get the two Fords on the road for this summer. Malibu engine & wiring is mostly done. Hi pressure fuel system next. It will be emission legal when done. Pontiac is ready to go and close to being emission legal. Saab 9-3 Aero, HFV6, turbo, six speed manual is my beater while my Impala SS gets some R&R.

Nice fleet of cars. (y) You certainly have no shortage of things to maintain and work on...and I can't see you getting bored any time soon.
Thank you for sharing the pics. :friday:

I'll be there for sure. I just finished swapping a THM350 transmissions in my 56 Ford. It made it up and down the street under its own power late yesterday, so the insurance gets swapped onto it tomorrow. I think I'll swap the Saab insurance onto the '62 Pontiac and put it on the road also.

I have an auditor in on my job in the morning of the show, but should free up in the afternoon. You can text me at 905-658-1740 .

I love the Niagara Falls area. I had my first "honeymoon" weekend there in 1969. A girl I was dating wanted to see the falls so we "sneaked" up there. There's something about the water/view that makes women frisky. I've had many honeymoons there since. The one woman I married actually hated the falls, go figure. Yes, I'm divorced but my present Lady friend loves the falls but we only go to the American Side now. I came back over on the last day that I didn't need a passport. I refuse to get one. Too bad because I'd of liked to go to that car show. The Falls is around 3 hours from where I live. Enjoy the show.

I worked at that plant in 1986 as an engineering student. Collected quality data on the V6 crankshafts. I also worked in the old axle plant in town. I would love to go but the BFG's are a little out of round to drive so far on the highway. And I wouldn't dare show up with my Camry! I would like to see pics especially if anyone does the plant tour.
