GMC caballero 250 inline 6?

i just got a motorless g body caballero and i have a piece of junk stepside chevy with a 250. will this paperweight fit in there or should i just get a small block. just wondering because i have it, truck is a 78 so third gen motor

I've seen it done it's a tight fit but will fit. I believe you will have to make custom motor mounts to get it in the car.

You should be able to use V8 frame mounts to do this, the cross member will need notched for the exhaust as the 250 manifolds are on the passenger side. My '81 wagon had a 250 in it when I bought. It is a tight fit but the cars were designed for them (thought I heard years back non US/Canada cars could of had a 250.)

Think you mean "drivers side" for the exhaust manifold on the inline 250.

As an aside, what year truck is the setup coming out of?

Thanks for the correction, don't know why I had a brain fart on that. I had one in the wagon & got it wrong.
