Before I get too excited in my little assumption bubble, I thought I would ask this question.
Is my GN rear/transmission/driveshaft going to pop right into my Olds? 305 SBC at the moment. Many engines lurking in my shop with a chance at getting in there, just not this summer. I know the diff is going to slide in, just suddenly had this random moment of doubt pop up.

Diff and driveshaft go right in with no mods or issues. The GN trans however will require the correct crossmember which uses a mount farther back on the drivers side that is not present on 78-82 or 83 frames though there are aftermarket brackets available to take care of that.

My vote is for the G-force cross member, thicker steel and heavy duty.

That 1st one that looks like a heavy equipment mechanic fixed it is actually mine. 2004r in my cutlass.

I did this one with the correct crossmember for a 2004r and welded up the frame extension for my 80 wagon.

Its 2" angle iron I cut down and welded a bit. They sell these extensions also.

I guess I should have removed tv cable as well. Forgot about that.
Is there electric lock-up on the GN transmission?
