That was me that posted that in FB. I got started putting that and the rear 86-88 LS, 87-88 SS rear cover on my car & had to stop about 1/2 way through fitting them because something else came up. Hope to know more some time next week.

The material that both covers are made from is the same as the original the only difference is the material is black unlike the original that was yellow. Which for purists this will be an easy way to identify an original or NOS cover vs the aftermarket ones. Me personally it doesn't matter as long as they fit as good as the original covers.
