So I just found out the mechanics shop my first car (79 Regal Limited) sat at for years had moved to a new location. The last time I went to check was YEARS ago. The place was closed down and the old junkers were gone. Place was cleaned up and for sale. I got a phone number yesterday but think I'll take the trip and talk in person. Who knows, maybe the car is at the owners house out in a field. Long shot but at least I'm going to find out what happened to it. I'd love to have it back.

The first car I bought after H.S. was a 1963 Impala convertible (not a Super Sport) triple black with bench seat. It was a 409 (340 hp) 4-speed, 4:11 posi. The lo-po 409 had the factory tachometer but red line was at 5,000 rpm's. The Hi-comp 409 had solid lifters, one 4V was 400 HP, two 4 barrels was 425 hp. The hi-po's tachometer red line was 6,000 rpm's.
That was the most fun car I ever had. Nothing like driving back from Geneva on the lake with the top down with the hot blonde I was dating in the summer of 1968. I sold the car and bought a Chevelle 396 to go faster. 2 months later the "new" owner wrapped it around a tree. I wish I'd taken pictures of it. The guy got messed up, not sure how he made out. The "hot" blonde sent me a Dear John letter when I was in the Army.
Thirty plus years later, a "BIG" woman came up to me at a bar. She's going on "Hi, how have you been?" As I say "good, how about you," but my minds racing trying to place this "big" woman, I'm thinking maybe an old school teacher? Finally, I put a name to that chubby old face, it's the formerly "hot" blonde.
So, basically the one hit a tree, the other was big as a tree.

I would not want my 1st or 2nd car but my third I would like. 68 Camaro, 327. Console, buckets and a slip and slide powerglide.

Of all of them, for the money it'd be the '70 SS454 Chevelle, for fun, it'd be the Rallye 350

I dropped a chick 40 years ago when I lived in Clearwater. Darned if I didn't see her mug shot on the local news feed for DUI a few months ago. She was a drunk then and now. Psycho ones. We have all had them
