Hello EveryGbody,
I recently did a nice 04 GP leather bucket seat upgrade to my 84 GP and I put together an easy step by step procedure on how I did it. This upgrade was easier than I thought it would be, considering I wasn't even sure if the seats would fit but I saw a nice pair on Craigslist for sale so I just bought them first which gave me the incentive to do the job.
I knew they would fit but my concern were the track mounting locations. The new tracks had a much wider mounting location than my old seats so I knew that I wasn't going to be able to use the new tracks. With that and the fact that I did not want to change the mounting locations on my car at all, I knew that I had to use the original tracks of my old seats and somehow mount them to the new seats.
Well I really lucked out when I measured the mounting bolts to both seats and they were the same distance at roughly 13 1/2 inches! Gotta love Pontiac,,, they didn't change the mounting locations on the seats for 20 years! Mine is an 1984 and these are 2004. The only modification that I had to do was drill a hole a little past the front mounting holes on the old tracks. The old tracks have a bow to them they are not flat so the only old parts that I had to use were the spacers that were under the tracks on the old seats. This makes it possible to bolt the old tracks onto the new seats.
That's about it, I put the pics in step order so you can see exactly what to do. As you can see, the old cloth vs. the new leather seats is amazing! All you need is to find a nice set of 04-08 Pontiac Grand Prix seats, maybe other models may work but I am not sure about them.
Good luck,

p.s - sorry but I don't know why the pics are rotated sideways, they are correct on my end. old vs new.jpg

That's nice to know but I couldn't find any posts on how to do the swap.

Oddly 88-03 gp seats would be Hardee to adapt due to a smaller size
