What hardware has everyone used when adding a Grand Prix bar to a car with the F41 suspension bars already? The mounting points at the front line up with the F41 bars but the bolts appear too short to fit both and still have enough threads in the nut. What particular nuts/bolts/washers has everyone used? Looking to add the bar when I rebuild my front suspension and steering and want to get the hardware in advanced. Thanks for the info.

Not sure exactly what others have done but I always use the original nuts with 2 original washers on each side to space the bars adequately from each other. The original washers are thick and hardened unlike hardware store washers so they won't distort. And for the bolts themselves I've found that the factory bolts that hold the transmission to the bell housing on T5 equipped S10 trucks or F bodys are the perfect length and the same thread pitch as the original jounce bar nuts. I feed the bolts inside the frame facing down like the originals then put the jounce bars in place followed by 2 washers on each side then the GP bar one last washer and finally the nut. Just like in these pictures from my 442.

For my Monte I made my own thicker jounce and GP bars and I went with 1/2" grade 8 bolts and I also drilled and re-tapped the lower frame mount for 1/2" bolts, I also did the same for my Regal even though it has factory bars. Monte pictured below.

Update.
Got the grade 8 bolts, washer and nut for each side. Used 1/2 inch, 2 inches long. Washer between jounce and Grand Prix bar. Everything worked good except for the bolt being too long. Had to borrow a deep well to finish up. I’d say only a 1in, maybe 1 1/2in would be needed but oh well. All is well and the upgrade is noticeable right off the bat.

That’s very true. If I’m going to take it apart I’ll just end up going and getting a shorter bolt. I may do that when I do my front end rebuild soon.

I would also add a flat washer with a lock washer under the nut.

I'm fine with the stock hardware. I've got no rubbong issues with my gp and jounce bars.
