Not stereo I was just wiring mine together and I found this shoved under the dash from previous owner and the wires were live thank you that's what I was wondering most likely an alarm because I did find one it was the blinker light on the door panel and the wires ran underneath the carpet towards fuse box

Reason why I'm asking is because my gauges do not work they're all over the place jumping around when I drive and rpm is all the way past 5 when idling previous owner said after he put in a turbo 350 transmission is when gauges didn't work anymore I'm trying to figure it out I'd ask him but he passed on

You need to get up under there further, and disconnect the wires where they're tied in. You may find a few of those nasty, dirty, little, evil Scotchloks up there. They are evil because they can break conductors if installed incorrectly, maybe even cut a wire.
As far as the gauges go: make sure the ground is hooked up (2-10mm bolts above the e-brake pedal where the dash mounts) and verify proper operating voltage (13.8-14-4) at the battery, alternator, and starter where the main cables go.
