Have you thought of going with a pre computer HEI distributor. You should be able to find those a lot easier and aftermarket as well. I have one on my 1981 El Camino SS with a 290 HP 350 .It has passed emissions and runs great.

The wire colour should be the same. Just buy a pack of bullet connectors and make your own. Are you planning on running the V6 computer? I know the Buick and Olds run different timing curves but you can compensate by running more base timing. The non computer eBay Olds V8 cheap Chinese distributor's are actually well made, I have one on my 88 Cutlass.
