Believe it or not they don't celebrate Columbus Day down here. I guess they just don't recognize Columbus...oh well.
Up north it was a regular holiday...people had off from work, etc.
I think football is a more important holiday to the people down here. Homecoming is a big deal...and people either have a half day, or they're off for the day. Whatever tickles your fancy I suppose.

so you guys don't get to enjoy a day off?...that would suck. Being self employed my friggen boss wouldn't give me the day off even though it's supposed to be thanksgiving...

I guess it is considered a federal holiday. There was no mail today...but I think the schools were open. I'm also guessing that it's a bank holiday as well.
