Same to you Jack. But peaceful?!? Not here in NYC. Roads are jammed, accidents everywhere, cops on the lookout, hot and sticky, a good day to relax in the kiddie pool with a cold one.....
Labor Day: A US holiday that most employers give there employees the day off, some a paid day off, overtime for those who work it. It is also a day that spouses take advantage of by making said employee with day off to labor all day forcing it to be a day one wishes they had to work just to get break from the extra labor.

I guess if you were fortunate enough to escape the city for a long weekend in the country...then I could see peaceful. NYC and peaceful in the same breath sounds kinda contradictory.
Relaxing in the kiddie pool with a cold one doesn't sound like a terrible idea...
anyway you can find relief is a good thing.

Jack- I used to enjoy escaping to the country. But sitting in returning traffic for hours on end gets old quick. No, I'll stay at home and watch the road carnage on the 6 o'clock news. Like the idiot out east that jumped a sobriety check point. 2 cops injured and a K-9 unit dog killed.

I know exactly what you mean. We'd go upstate or somewhere nice out of town and get rewarded with punishing bumper to bumper traffic on the trip home. Yes, I have some not so fond memories of those times.

I have the day off but planning to stay home with kids and wife. My older teen will probably spend most of the day at the barn with the horses..
Plan to grille up some meat for supper -- high point of the day -- ha.

Maybe I will get to relax tomorrow. I spent the hole weekend putting a power steering pump in my wife's 2007 Acadia. What a fun job that is not! Broke a cage nut for the subframe, and ended up with a hole in the floor boards.
