I'm looking forward to seeing Stanley Black and Decker bring Craftsman tool production back to the USA.

I was going to buy one of those extendable ratchets but my coupon expired. I figure this would be useful at the junkyard and I won't have to carry around my 18" piece of pipe that does't fit in my free harbor freight tool bag.

I am hoping they do. It would be nice to see a Made in USA tool in an actual store again.

Maybe it will force Huskey and Kobalt to come back to the USA as well.

I know i know wishful thinking.

I've also been buying HF tools for awhile and am extremely happy with the quality and price. However, i will NOT get anything cordless powerwise as that stuff is junk! The pneumatic tools are decent, i have a couple impacts and an $18 bodysaw that cost a fraction of my dads matco and it does just fine.

I've been there twice in the past week using up some coupons to grow my hand tool selection and it's hard to beat the prices. I'm not a professional mechanic and don't have the $$$ to buy high end tools. Disclaimer: i had a 1/2" Craftsman torque wrench kick the bucket in 2 years, bought a HF Pittsburgh unit probably 10+ years ago and it's still going strong....and spot on accurate to the $150 wrench my dad keeps in his chest at work!

Just some people trying to pad their pockets, i got the email and promptly deleted it! I agree, USA made tools are nice, but for what i need on a daily basis the HF stuff suits me just fine.

Up here we have Princess Auto (just sounds like an Asian company name) which is the equivalent of your HF. The interesting thing is how much their quality has improved over recent years (much like most imported goods) - so much less like a flea market. They have even started carrying name brand products, and I believe they have their own in-house premium brand (Pro-point). I tend to buy more widgets and supplies from PA versus tools; as most of my tools come from Canadian Tire because their premium line has a lifetime warranty, and there is at least one in every town - much more accessible than PA.

Ironically, I still have my very first discount bin 20-pc SAE tool set in all of its Chinesium greatness which I used to maintain my MCSS in the early days - I cannot wait to pass it on to my daughters. And you should have seen my face light up when I got my 200-pc metric and SAE tool kit from Costco - what a Christmas it was! LOL.

If those tools go back to USA production then I will go back to buying them regardless of price. If I'm stuck buying Chinese tools (from local retailers) then I will shop price.
