Hey I picked up a 6-71 blower, it's from a Detroit diesel but interchangeable with the gm engines, but just not sure which ones. I am wanting to put a bigger engine in my 1978 Regal and want to incorporate the blower. If you have any info on which engines that blower fits, please share! That would be much appreciated!!

A GMC blower from a diesel is FAR removed from a street-ready blower for gasoline engine use. It can be done, but it won't be cheap.

As far as bolting it to the engine goes, doesn't he just need the lower intake?

And a drive system, bearing/end plates, carb adapter, rotors reworked, shaft pin work, and clearanceing.

Lot more to it than just bolting it on.

And that's assuming the case isn't used up, or a V series.

If it's a good Detroit 6-71 you probably are better off selling and buying a complete kit for a SBC http://www.dyersblowers.com/1694.html it might wind up costing you more to piece together and modify the one meant for a Diesel.

It's been done A LOT over the last 40 years:

Not much looks cooler than a Roots blower on top of an engine.

Going through the same thing man by time you convert it over and get all the parts together not including carbs ,it's cheaper to buy a kit unless you get the parts cheap used ,the conversion kit to rebuild blower is cheap part 150-200$ it's all the other stuff that gets pricey QUICK I have an 8v71 I'd love to put on my 496
