What is the normal break in procedure for new head gaskets?

your suggestions would be appreciated.

There is no break in procedure -- just don't overheat it. You should do the oil change after it's back together but before you start it to get any coolant out of the pan that may have drained in when you took it apart.

I drained all the oil and with the plug and filter out, I dumped in a quart over the heads and it ran through. This should have gotten any residual coolant out. I plan on changing the oil again next weekend along with doing an oil flush treatment. I will also do a coolant flush and top the oil off with a Marvel oil treatment.
Thanks
