Hey guys. Is this normal? Are the heads mismatched to the block? This gasket is the same one that came off originally and matches the head perfectly. But look at the restrictions on the block??
Thx. Yeah it has me concerned. These are fel-pro gaskets so i thought they would be goodI've seen some that don't match 100% but that would be close to what I wouldn't want to use.
I'd order another set from someone else.
i didnt have a leak or anything, needed to remove the heads to check on the clacking noise which i believe turned out to be a bad lifter, but i wanted to tear the top down and check everything while i was in there.Maybe thats why you are replacing it???
perfect, thanks! The gasket usually acts as a restriction to flow out of the block to allow coolant to flow to rear of block to cool all cylinders. Big block chevy does the same thing. The gasket covers half the hole on the bottom of the deck.
