Head help

Ok so I'm getting ready to put these heads on my block... noticed these valve stem tips. Scarred, pitted, I dont even know what to call it. It's on 4 of 5 valves. I know I can get caps but have never used them before. Suggestions?

A pic would help - I think your talking about lash caps which is a possibility but you might also change the valve train geometry

Thanks - Ya, do it right replace them, caps need a flat surface.
