I got a weird question. if i put 305 camaro heads on a 350 truck motor will it raise my compression ratio? block is 75 truck, heads are 89 camaro. the motor with a 700r4 from said camaro is going in an 86 toyota pickup. gotta love the projects
I have to agree. You would be going to a smaller combustion chamber thus upping the compression ratio in the process. By doing this you would have to run higher octane fuel. Not only that but you would have to deal with detonation and hot spots in the pistons. I would recommend having the heads you have now machined, or getting a set of aftermarket ones. You'd be saving yourself the trouble of doing it twice.ss4ever said:Your compression will go up a bunch and you will have problems with pre-ignition(spark knock) not to mention the small valves will restrict flow and the engine will not perform as expected.
