Putting everything back together in my 81. Heat only. I got this control with the box and ducts but Im thinking Im missing some major stuff on this. Ive got a ton of parts in the attic of my garage but Im not sure if Im going to have all the right pieces. Can anyone tell me what I need ?
The harness is attached to the brown feed under the dash. At this point Im thinking its not the right harness. Anyone know ? Theres a small plug coming into the car from the heater box/motor through the right side of the firewall. Not sure what goes to it.

That looks like a A/C unit harness & the control panel may be missing a few retainers for the cables. I'll have to check mine to make sure I'm not miss directing you on that.

I'm pretty sure I've got a bunch of pics of heat only setup stuff but I'm out of town until later tomorrow. I'll keep a watch on this thread and if I can help I will...

What ever info you guys can give me will be greatly appreciated ! Theres a hammered El Camino at the yard I go to and I think the controls are still in it. Might be able to get the harness too if I dont have it. I just dont know what any of it looks like.

I have a complete heat only setup in the basement

I will try to dig it out and snap some pics.

I do know right off the bat you are missing the VENT levers and cables that go under the steering column.

I actually have that. I still have some wires to finish up under the column before I put attach that to the dash though.
I got this whole heater set up from a friend of mine that was building a big tire Malibu. That had to be well over 10 years ago. Pretty easy to misplace parts after so much time has past.

Well guys, after 20 minutes of digging through the crap in the attic of the garage I think I found the harness. Take a look at the picture and tell me if it looks like the right one.
Now I just need to know what cable goes where and how theyre attached. Maybe one of you guys have done this ?
The only other thing Im not sure about as far as the dash is concerned is mounting the bezel for the radio. I cut the original Malibu bezel to fit the Alpine radio. From what I can see I need the original radio bracket because the lower bezel screws mount into it. Whats the normal way of doing this ? Cut the bracket down so just the lower side screws hold it in ?

From memory that certainly does look like the harness. I'm sure I've got pics of the cable locations but I'm still away from home....will be back later on...

On the radio bracket...yes I cut one down to use to mount the lower screws for attaching the bezel.
