Heater hose flow direction

Since there is a flow arrow on this inline valve I just bought I need to know if the smaller hose flows into the heater core.

Just talking out my *ss here, kinda thinking aloud and possibly wrong too. Would make sense to me that the larger hose is going to the heater core while the smaller is headed back to the engine. Heat causing expansion and all.

We now return to your regularly scheduled programming...

One time I thought I was wrong but I was mistaken.
Now, that's twice! :) haha

As far as flow......intake manifold connection flows toward the heater core. Heater core flows to the water pump.

It probably doesn't since it's a butterfly valve. Unless it has a check valve in it. But you must do what the arrow tells you to do...or you will die. :)
