Looking for long tube ceramic coated headers for g body with sbc perfer HEDMAN with 1 5/8" and 3" collectors anyone knows a part number?
Jeez has it gotten that bad? I remember back in the early 90’s when I was searching I at least found Casler and cyclone that fit the 4 speed. They were both 1 5/8” headers, 1 with a 2.5” collector and 1 with a 3”. The thing with both was it had the passenger header point outboard to line up with the factory hump.Hedman does not have 1 5/8 headers that fit the 78-88 A/G bodies. They have 1 1/2" and then jump to 1 3/4" in their Husler series.
If you insist on 1 5/8" you should look at Hooker, Lemons, Patriot or others.
I run the 1 1/2" Hedmans because they are pretty much the only thing that will fit a 4 speed car.
I just went through this last year. I tried the 1 5/8 Hooker's and Patriots. Neither would clear the z bar. Hedman did not have any 1 5/8 long tubes for a 78-88 A/G body. I found a pair of 1 5/8" Hedmans for an F body and tried them. They were out too far and making contact with the frame.Jeez has it gotten that bad? Personally, I regret not buying ceramic coated, my engine bay is too hot. I am currently running Hedman Longtubes #68310. Not sure the diameters.I would not pay extra to have ceramic coating on the outside, headers rot out from the inside
