[88 Gutlass]

I didn’t make a post after I joined, I have had a few Gbodys back when I was younger. I got my first one 1980 Regal from my Father back in the late 80’s I put a 355 I built in it and drive it till I got rear ended, then I found a 82 ttop cutlass and had that car up till I moved to Tx. I wanted to rebuild it but found major rot from years of being in Oh so it went to the junk yard. Now jump fwd till a few months ago when I was looking fora project to bring back. I was looking on FB market place and came across an 1988 cutlass classic. My son and I drove 2 hours to look at it in the dark to see if it was worth redoing. We spent about 1 hour looking it over and thought it was pretty solid for the 1500 he was wanting. The next day we went back and get it, and it has been in the garage every since getting taken apart to rebuild. First thing I did was pull the whole front suspension out to replace it with new parts ie, new upper control arms, lower control arm bushings ball joints and all the steering components, I even put a set of moog s10 front springs and front brakes on her while I was there. I have also been working on fixing the top from where the previous owner had removed the vinyl top and didn’t treat the bad areas, I am converting it to hard top since all the require parts came with the car. I didn’t look at the rear upper deck area before I bought it and I found a bunch of rot that needs to be fixed. Future plans are to fix all the rust rear disk brakes, bed line the floor boards top and bottom pull the 307 out and clean it up and make it a nice cruiser, till I put a LS in. This is going to be a long project but I am enjoying all the work that she will need to make her hat she deserves to be.

Thank you for the welcome, I will get those burnout pics once she is right.... here is an updated process pic of the hardtop, passenger side is allot closer to being done still need to to a skim coat of filler but getting there. I need to get the naval jelly off the underside so I can start applying the bed liner.

Did a little bit more today, got the rear control arms cleaned up and painted and finishing up the prep work before I apply the bed liner. I did t put new bushing in the control arms due to I plan on running aftermarket when I do the 8.8 swap.

I have made a bit more progress, got the underbody bed lined, floor board pin holes fixed, rearend cleaned up and front frame clean and first coat of paint put on. Sorry for all the pictures
