I'm trying to figure out how to put my a.c. back on so my belt squeal goes away...i need pics...cant find the right angles online. Any pics would be greatly appreciated. 1977 olds 403

Seems to be the only way to get rid of the squeal....the water pump has the power steering and alternator belt pulling it to the driver side. Having the a.c. back on would spread the pressure.

I can find the older A5 compressor diagram but not for the R4.

If I really had to do this I would probably just fab up a bracket and use something like this idler pulley below just to clean up the engine compartment .

I knew I saw it somewhere. I assumed it was the classic olds site. You can run everything on one side but you still need two belts off the crank or it will probably still squeal even without an engine driven fan.

I took the fan off and no squeal. I didn't drive it but I did rev it a few times and still didn't squeal. So i think i will go the electric fans route. As far as the spacers.....i completely forgot where everything goes. I only took 1 pic and doesn't even help. I didn't think I would be putting it back on. The water pump won't have any negative affect from the current setup?
