I have recently purchased a 4 wheel disc brake kit for my 1978 El Camino. Everything installed smoothly, but the brake shoe is loose in the caliper. The caliper is installed on the rotor. I understand you are supposed to squeeze the shoes with channel-lock pliers, but I have tried and it won't budge. Any advice helps.

Did you bleed the brakes?

your problem is you are trying to install a brake shoe into a caliper....
The caliper is supposed to be pressed onto the caliper by the ears of the pads.

I realized that, I was just joking with you....:)

did you get the pad installed?. I bend the tabs before I install the pad
Yes, everything is installed, but I will take them out and try that. Sounds like it should work.
