Did a search on here and google and nothing turned up. 2AJC2971 is stamped on the axle tube and GM550161741 is in the gear itself, was told its a 3.42 by the PO but want to make sure. Thanks in advance for the help.
The Code on this from what I can tell you might be disappointed the AJ code was used in 1973-1975 cars as a 3.42 ratio, then from 1979-1988 the code represents the 2.41 ratio. got this out of an old Chilton repair manual for Chevrolet Mid-size 1964-88, Hopefully the codes are different for the other makes like Buick and Olds
:shock: well sh*t, its ok I guess....gave $100 for anything I wanted off the car minus fenders. Got my moneys worth, just disappointed because this was the only thing I planned on keeping for myself.
