Help pliss Cutlass 1972 supreme motor mounts problem

Hei guy i have a cutlass 1972 supreme and im trying to put a 350 chevy whit transmission but the problem is that the motor mouts. i got the motor mounts from a malibu 1980 so i can put it in.
and on the back the transmission is to close to the car and the distributor wont fit.

can someone tell me what can i do,

Is there any reason why you think the 1980 mounts would be remotely correct for the completely different 1972 chassis? The 64-72 cars use different frames and different mounts from the later cars.

You running a HEI Distributor? Then you actually need to take a big hammer and dent the firewall where the distributor sits by.
Done this swap many times. The 72 Cutlass was never designed for HEI..

I would grab correct motor mounts for your Cutty................as far as your dizzy, you can always grab one that has a external coil......MSD makes a good slim dizzy as well...

Before u start swimging yer hammer like captin caveman, I would get a set of mounts from a chevelle that had a smallblock u may even need the transmission crossmember form the same rig as well. Yer motor is too far back because the malibu mounts won't bolt up properly 2 the frame. The 72 and the 80 a body frames are differnt where the mounts bolt up. Also the mounts are totally differnt.

Really???? News to me and the tens of thousands of other folks who have A-body cars retrofitted with HEI distributors. Of course, NOTHING will fit correctly if the engine is not in the factory location because incorrect mounts were used.
