If the Olds you're picking up has a V8 the fuel lines should be on the correct (passenger) side - I believe only the V6s had the line on the driver's. The Olds V8s have the fuel pump on the right-side of the engine, just like the Chevys. There's my good deed for the year, giving info to a guy convert an Olds over to Chevy (can't beleive I did that  ). Kidding.

In terms of the computer if you do keep it you may get a check-engine light all the time due to having something / sensor(s) unplugged. There is a small "chip" for lack of a better word that needs to be removed. Also, if you are running a 200-4R trans you may need to keep it because the lock-up is controlled by the computer (grounds to it). There are aftermarket kits available to control lockup if tossing the computer.

They are just completely different engines. The Olds is a 307 and Chevy is a 305. Olds engines have nothing in common Chevy besides the distributor cap, they use all different parts.

I tried putting motor in today and im having problems with the mounts i have the stock frame mounts and moroso motor mounts but when i drop the motor in it still has to go back to hit the frame mounts but my motor is back as far as it goes there are a bunch of holes on the frame and i tried moving the mounts to a diff location farther forward but the driverside holes dont match the passanger side andbody that has done this swap before what mounts did they use and did the bolt in or weld them i dont get it bc I have had malibus and this is the same set up

The small block mounts I was refering to were the clamshell mounts. I'm not sure which mounts he used but they will obviously work, too.

I have the same mounts i haven't tried my frame mounts yet ill try them and see how it goes does ur frame have like a thousand holes also? I really appreciate everybodys help

The frame clamshell from a v8 monte carlo will work but you need the chevy top half that bolts to motor. Also if you hold the mount to frame let it overhang the frame on the bottom the top 2 holes will line up and the bottom back hole will line up with elongaded slot in frame this is where bottom bolt will go it only uses 3 bolt holes.

If you ha the same mounts as in my pic above and the matching engine part, then it'll sit right down. As was mentioned, the forward bottom hole will hang off the edge.

As far as the engine mounting holes go, all 78-88 a/g frames will have the same holes. That was GM's corporate ways so they could bolt any engine they were using at the time in. Buick 3.8, Olds 307, Chevy V8 and 4.3l V6, Pontiac 301, and probably others. Ya gotta love the GM interchangibility. But, too many options can be confusing at times, too.

I like your quote ... Joe did such a good job on that ...

motor is in i got the headers bolted in starter and drive shaft i just have to hook up the wires transmission lines fuel lines and radiator and dist hopefully to have it running soon
