help wiring starter 87 cutlass

So I put a built 350 in my cutlass and I need some help on the starter wiring. Thought I had it right but when I put my + terminal on it started to arc and melt the wires. I have the positive cable to the alt and the starter. Can you tell me what wires need to go to the starter

I think what happened is that I didn't ground the block
