I think Massachusetts did get turbo T spec cars, if I recall there is good documentation that supports that.

20 years later and this story keeps coming back around like a bad case of herpes.

A very wise man nicknamed "Dirty Harry" once said: "Opinions are like *ssh*les, everybody has one!" I give no opinion, I suggest reading the article on Hemmings, website, unless that's something too difficult for you!
I did read it. I call BS on 'special' cars being made for LEO's.

I thought the only difference the GM LE or government Vehicles had, usually Cutlass Cieras or something similar had was certified/ calibrated speedometers done after the fact; not at the factory.

Connecticut State Police used one or more for unmarked cars in the 80s, but I suspect they were forfeitures.

The NYPD confiscated a late 80's 5.0 Mustang hatchback. The guy had put loads of money into it and was the terror of the streets. When they finally grabbed him they took his car and painted it all NYPD, added lights, and made a patrol car out of it. I saw it once and it had a turbo, inter-cooler, as well as everything you could buy from Summit at the time. From what the cop said about him that guy is probably still in jail.
