Thought I’d give this forum a try as it seems to be one of the larger active gbody pages these days. I’m here to learn and share my experiences to hopefully save others from struggling where I have. My project is an 84 SS that I got from a family member. He set it up with a 454, then I built a 454, now it’s a roughly 500hp turbo 5.3. Just a low budget weekend warrior for burnouts and ice cream. I’ll probably start a build thread first for anyone interested.

Welcome to the forum from West Michigan. Based on the one pic showing the under hood area it looks like you did a nice job with the swap. I’m curious what your IAT is at full heat soak with that filter setup.

It’ll hit 140s sitting in traffic after awhile, but typically 10-15* off ambient while moving. I’ve got the high beam bulb out on that side, and that’s also an older picture I need to take a new one. I’ve got the filter behind the missing headlight now, and it’s about 3 times the size. Temps are pretty similar, but the small filter started to collapse on me.

The car actually has a ton of things done to it. I’ve touched probably 70-80% of it at this point over the last 4-5years. It’s got a terminator, 4l80, new drive shaft, gov loc turned into a limited slip, moser axles, umi springs, tall ball joints, cheap a arms, ws6 sway bar, etc etc. I’ll start on the build thread when I get home tonight and can upload more pics.
