Hi all. I became the 3rd owner of this 85 Monte SS last September. It belonged to a friends dad and he finally decided to sell. He bought it around 1992 I remember I was still in high school. It’s fairly clean but had rust in the rear quarters and rear outer fender liners as well as rusted out LH trunk floor to body mount panel. Bought all new sheet metal and am in progress of getting all that swapped. Passenger side is finished. The driver side took longer due to some sheet metal availability issues. Waiting on the outer liner hope to have it this week. Original 305 runs decent but I have an l31 in the shop stock and low miles I plan to swap and keep the original engine.
The paint looks good in the picture after I washed it just after putting the new front fascia on but the paint is in poor condition. Plan to repaint it black again.

An update.. sadly the rear outer drivers liner I received recently was for a Cutlass and in my excitement I didn’t pay enough attention and installed it thinking what I ordered was what I received. This has to come back off and the search is on. LOL all part of the experience.

Thank you all for the welcome. I will update with progress as I make progress in the appropriate forum in a new thread. It’s slow going right now but hoping to take her to power tour this year if they have it and don’t cancel again...

I love the G Body cars this is my second. My first was a 1978 Olds Cutlass Supreme that I bought when I was 15 for $700 bucks. It had a diesel and my dad and I Swapped the diesel for a Olds 350 that we built up with flattops and a cam and I drove it all through high school. It was my favorite car lots of memories lol and it got me started wrenching and fixing up cars. Got a couple old pics of it I may dig up at some point.
